Digital Image & Print Content Fulfillment
Museums, archives and photo libraries receive numerous requests from publishers, educators, film-makers and the public
for digital files, prints or other media copies of their content. Customer requests are made in person at institutions, by
mail or over the internet. Staff members are then required to undertake a number of steps often with limited personnel
resources to search, identify, check copyright usage, then retrieve materials, process and ship required photo duplication
copies to their clients.
Brechin has been providing a content fulfillment service for a number of years and has developed a very efficient process
that takes care of the material retrieval, photo duplication and shipping portion. Once requested items are verified for
copyright and reproduction usage by library staff, Brechin receives the client request, processes the work order, digitizes
or prints the items, bills and ships the customer. In addition, a portion of the item cost is returned by Brechin to the
institution which creates revenue without the need to invest in addition equipment, labour or an accounting systen required
to track and receive payments.
This allows organizations to generate revenue and service their clients while focusing resources on activities their
trained personnel do best: searching, identifying and verifying access to requested items and preserving, restoring and
displaying materials of archival significance.
